Exports from Spain already represent more than 80 per cent of their overall activity. The plant for the supply of Bombardier's propulsion systems, located in Trápaga, and the recently inaugurated Rail Control Solutions engineering centre in Madrid are amongst the most advanced manufacturing and technology centres of their type in the world, guiding Bombardier’s projects across Spain, Portugal, Italy, South America and other locations around the world. The Chamber is a private association based in Madrid, which aims to strengthen relations between the two countries. The award by the Canada-Spain Chamber of Commerce recognises Bombardier's key role in the Spanish railway industry and contribution to Hispanic-Canadian business relations.
